“Think of your peace as a vast, unending reservoir of silence. It is, in fact, beyond the scope of a reservoir, because it is unending. The analogy of the peace at the bottom of the ocean, which is constant even though the surface of the ocean is in constant turmoil, is excellent, but the only flaw in it is that oceans have shores—they come to an end. The peace that is yours has no limitations whatsoever. It is grander than the universe. You cannot understand this now, but you will.
“Drawing on that peace is as simple and uncomplicated as opening a door. If you are in a house that is completely closed up and the air has become stale and musty, and then you open the front door and allow the fresh, clean air to come in, it takes very little time for the old to be replaced by the new. Unless you close the door again and stop the flow, you will be breathing the clean air. And even if you do close the door, you still will benefit from the new air that has entered.”
